Comments on: ICT, Leadership and National Development

I think I.T in our country is nothing to write about, we only dwell on graduate that have Bsc in Computer Science or related field, Bsc is or no Bsc is not the issue, what am say I am saying is that it is high time people should be employed base:

I) Experience
II) Ability to deliver inrrespective on how difficult the task may.
III) What the employee him/herself is capable of doing with or without any direction or discression of any one because technology is a kind of creativity on its own.

By doing that, professional become more solid either in I.T or respective field. Not going after graduate with Bsc First Class.

This is indeed a well thought piece of work. However, in my opinion what is lacking in this country is leadership otherwise all the other factors enumerated by the author already exist. Like I and many Nigerians have always opined, our problem as a nation is leadership. Without the right people in the helm of affairs we will contniue langusih in mediocrity. God help us…

Wow!great insight there from Engr Chris Uwaje,the statistics is shocking,am thinking where do we need to start?the whole developmental issue and process is rather complex.Can the future generation handle the mess we already have..i still think we need to start from the basis like Dr Chris pointed out.

Meanwhile, within the context of his write up, one is concerned with the possibility of how a nation harbouring more than 10million slaves (so-called Househelps) and another 20million MAI-GURAD Watchmenn can compete favourably in the emerging Knowledge Olympiad with other nation? The nation must first of all undertake a fundamental restrustring of her humanity by freeing the abundant hidden knowledge treasures locked-up in our slave house/s all over the country – inorder to begin the journey to equitable development.

Prettyface,This is a great article in deeed,we need to understand how the desired changes we see in other nations came about.Frankly speaking we need to get it right and the time is now,Vision 202020 will not be realised if ICT which is the backbone of economic development is not put in its place of pride.we need Digital economic empowerment in Nigeria.
