Jimson OlufuyeDr Jimson Olufuye is a graduate of Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Lagos in 1988 where he was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Prize and the College/Faculty prize for the best all round performance. He was also awarded FULL COLOURS for outstanding performance in Chess. He obtained a Master of Technology degree in Computing from the Federal University of Technology, Minna in 2000. In 2007, he was awarded a Ph.D. Business Administration (Strategic Management) by the Irish University Business School, London.

Dr Olufuye worked with private IT firms between 1990 and 1994 after which he started Kontemporary Komputers Ltd in 1995. Dr Olufuye was elected Chairman of the Information Technology (Industry) Association of Nigeria (ITAN) Abuja Chapter in 1995 and he was at the helm till 2001 when he was elected Deputy President. In March 2007, he was elected the President of the Association. On December 1, 2008, he actualized for Nigeria a place of honour with the admission of ITAN into the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). A body of more than 70 countries controlling more than 90% of the World IT market.

A Council member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Computer Professionals’ (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN), Dr Olufuye is a leading voice on Information Technology Policy Issues in Nigeria. He has authored many software on process control and automation. He also has three books to his credit – Sincere but Sincerely Wrong, Mohammed My Brother and the acclaimed Information Technology Applications.

He ran unsuccessfully to represent AMAC/BWARI Federal Constituency (Abuja) at the National Assembly in 1999 & 2003. He however in the process was awarded four Chieftaincy titles by the Fulani, Shere, Tiv & Yoruba communities in Abuja. Dr Olufuye is a recipient of United Nations Youth Ambassador Award for Peace in 2007. He was awarded the Fellowships of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) in 2003 and the Institute of Chartered Management Auditor in 2004.

Dr Olufuye has attended Advanced Leadership & Professional training courses in Sun-City, South Africa (2000); Silicon Valley (2003/2008), Hawaii (2007) in USA & United Kingdom Telecom Academy (2008).  He has also attended professional conferences in London, Malaysia, Dubai, India, Germany and in Nigeria.

CharlesMokCharles Mok;is a Hong Kong based Internet entrepreneur and IT advocate. He was the co-founder of HKNet in 1994, it is believed that he contributed the company’s expansion as an IP telecommunications operator in Hong Kong. He was a founding chairman of Internet Society, Hong Kong Chapter, and the ex-officio member and ex-president of the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation. He was also a past chairman and a co-founder of the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association.

He has been actively promoting the industry’s development and digital comprehension in the region since the early 1990s. He has been actively participating in the community to promote fair competition, media freedom, personal privacy, consumer protection, healthcare, transport, human rights and democracy development in Hong Kong. In 1999, he was awarded as one of Hong Kong’s ” Ten Outstanding Young Digi Persons”.

He is currently a regular columnist in the Hong Kong Economic Journal (since 2000) , The Sun Daily (since 2003) , and CUP magazine (since 2005).

In Hong Kong’s 2008 Legislative Council Election, Charles Mok lost to Samson Tam for the seat of the Information Technology Functional Constituency. He lost at 1982 versus 2017 votes, or 35 votes behind. Charles Mok had commenced a legal action in the High Court of Hong Kong against Samson Tam in relation to the alleged misconduct of Samson Tam during the period leading up to Hong Kong’s 2008 Legislative Council Election.

Mok attended Wah Yan College, Hong Kong (Class of 1981), which was (and still is) a prestigious Roman Catholic single-gender secondary school in Hong Kong. He received his Bachelor and Master Degrees, in 1985 and 1987 respectively, in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, United States. Mok is currently a Ph. D candidate in Enterprise Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, People’s Republic of China.

Ahmed-5Ahmed Aliyu Ahmed:At the tail end of the nineteenth century my grand parents met and my father was born. My father who I didn’t know passed away through a brief fever in a confluence town (Lokoja) in the middle belt part of Nigeria. My upbringing was a bit above middle class and I was lucky to come in terms with mathematics very early in life. When I couldn’t study chemical engineering, I opted for computer science in which I got a diploma from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

In the same institution I under studied in a Cisco facility and also got a B .Sc in Economics. I got my MCP, MCDST, and LINUX CERT from a Kolkatan (India) software training facility jointly sponsored by a New York based consultancy firm (Hudson Consultancy), Tathya in India and NEPC in Nigeria, and some few other IT certifications.

I am also an occasional columnist in Guardian Newspaper, CommunicationsWeek,Techtrendsng.com and some other IT magazines . Gbenga SesanGbenga Sesan, an Ashoka Fellow, is the Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria and he serves on the board of Africa Mentor Foundation, African Youth ICT4D Network, Alliance of Change Empowerment Speakers, Digital Divide Network, Global Network for Cybersolution, HiiT Limited, International Young Professionals Foundation, Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre and the World Summit Youth Awards, among others.

Originally trained as an Electronic & Electrical Engineer at Obafemi Awolowo University, ‘Gbenga has completed Executive Education Management Training Programs at Lagos Business School, New York Group for Technology Transfer, Oxford University, Harvard University and Stanford University.

His consulting experience includes assignments completed for numerous institutions, including Microsoft, Harvard University, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Res Publica, Computer Aid International, Heinrich Boll Foundation and the International Telecommunications Union.
